Dawn Kistruck holds a BA in Contemporary Dance as a Practice and is a qualified yoga instructor. She attended the London contemporary dance school for three years where she gained a qualification to work as a professional dancer and choreographer in the styles of Ballet, Contemporary and Tai chi chuan. 

Dawn went on to study Indian classical dance and Afro caribbean dance, where she was fortunate to tour and perform in Holland, France and in the UK at London's Barbican theatre with the Caribbean Carnival Extravaganza show.  

Dawn has won lottery funding for her choreographic work at WAC (London's weekend Arts College), and has worked in contemporary projects performing at Sadlers Wells Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall. 

Dawn also has extensive experience in Jazz dance styles, working with Temujin Gill and Co, training with the Jiving lindy hoppers in traditional Jazz and Matt Mattox Jazz dance style. 

Dawn attends the adult ballet classes at Brewer Dance Academy and has taught dance workshops for BDA over the last two years.  

Dawn is very excited to be offering a Contemporary dance and yoga class at BDA, which is enriched and enfused with her background in Contemporary, Classical, Jazz and cultural dance styles.

Catherine Cole trained at Brewer Dance Academy from 2001, where she completed all of her Graded examinations. She started assisting in classes at the age of 14, teaching sections of classes at 18, and became a registered Royal Academy of Dance Ballet teacher in 2019.   

Catherine has just returned from 2 years of teaching in a dance school in rural Alberta, Canada. Where she ran the entire ballet programme for 120 students, and held their largest exam session in their 20 years of offering classes. She also took several groups to festivals, which placed in the top 2 categories and won several choreography awards. She gained her PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) qualification, and has taught children with SEN needs and children who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Catherine is passionate about teaching ballet, including preparing dancers for pointe work, and continues to take classes herself.

Clare Hamilton-Gilbert originally trained at Her mother’s school in Essex, and at the Laura Faulkner School of Dance in Romford. She later gained a place at the Royal Academy of Dance on their degree in the Art and Teaching of Ballet. After graduating with her RAD teaching qualifications, she was awarded a year place to study in Scotland with a small touring ballet company which toured the Nutcracker in the Scottish theatres, Clare also got the opportunity while dancing in Scotland to work with Kenn Burke and Frank Freeman choreographing a short ballet for the Scottish Gala 2007.  

 After returning home Clare worked freelance as a classical ballet teacher in and around London for Arts Educational School (London), Susan Zalcman School of ballet, and The Ballet School Notting Hill. She also volunteered for a small dance company called Balletomane who delivered dance performances to people in deprived areas and care homes.  

In 2009 Clare started teaching for Tring Park School of the Performing Arts teaching the evening and Saturday associates and from 2012 the Sunday Classical Ballet Academy.  

Clare has recently completed the Royal Ballet School teaching diploma and the Trinity diploma in dance teaching and learning.  

Clare began teaching for Brewer Dance Academy through the first lockdown in 2020 teaching zoom pointework and is so happy that this has continued even though classes have now resumed in person.
